Spirit House is the expression of many artists, designers, dreamers and craftsmen. We owe a great debt of gratitude to each and every individual who has contributed to the manifestation of a dream. In honoring the ambitious efforts and devotion to the Spirit House project, we recognize the major participants in the design and construction of Spirit House.

O'Sullivan Architecture

Spirit House has a heart, due in no small way to the vision, creativity and willingness of Killian O'Sullivan. Killian engaged in the Spirit House project with great enthusiasm. His delicate balance in weaving together the diversity of religious symbols and sacred space, which Spirit House was called to embody, with the integrity of architecture and design was an extraordinary dance. The design of a building which stands silently in the night as a symbol of simplicity and utilitarian presence while rising in the sunlight to the task of honoring major traditions and sacred space is an extraordinary effort.

Moroso Construction

Headquartered in San Francisco, Moroso Construction is a remarkable company. Their 'can do' attitude and construction expertise creates a job site that is both enjoyable as well as efficient. The entire Moroso team participated in the Spirit House construction, adding many years of experience to the process. Be assured that what you see as the finished product called Spirit House is a reflection of the behind the scene professional work ethic and attitude that Moroso Construction embodies. We, at Spirit House, offer our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the Moroso team.

Tree To Table

The Spirit House library required a large community table to gather around to explore the deep mysteries of faith, noodle over a beautiful three dimensional tick-tack-toe board from Ecuador or debate the meaning of life. No ordinary table would hold the space without disturbing the prevailing sense of balance. The extraordinary walnut table in the Spirit House library was salvaged from a tree in Oakland by San Francisco based furniture design and milling team Tree To Table.  The tree had suffered from internal decay which made it a potential danger for the surrounding houses and was set for removal. Tree To Table purchased the log and lovingly trimmed, sanded, and carved the tree, giving it new life as a library table in Spirit House. Tree To Table is a husband and wife team that specializes in milling locally harvested trees and turning them into custom furniture.
